CAST AI, the leading Kubernetes automation platform, today announced the launch of its Commercially Supported Container Live Migration feature. This innovation enables uninterrupted migration of stateful and uninterruptible workloads in Kubernetes, such as databases and AI/ML jobs, ensuring continuous uptime and operational efficiency while reducing infrastructure costs.

Organizations running resource-intensive, stateful applications cannot afford downtime. Since there is no widely adopted, commercial solution to move these sensitive workloads to cost-efficient resources, they end up running in underutilized and expensive nodes. Container Live Migration addresses this challenge head-on by enabling these previously unmovable workloads to be automatically packed into fewer optimized nodes. This helps eliminate resource fragmentation, ensuring maximum resource utilization and optimal instance selection while driving substantial cost savings.

“Container Live Migration marks a new era for Kubernetes users managing mission-critical workloads,” said Laurent Gil, Co-Founder and CPO at CAST AI. “Our customers have been looking for ways to ensure continuity and cost efficiency for stateful applications, and now they can confidently deploy these workloads on CAST AI provisioned instances without sacrificing availability or performance.”

The Container Live Migration feature is now integrated with CAST AI’s existing suite of automation tools, including Bin-Packing and Eviction, Cluster and Node Rebalancing, Spot Fallback, Spot Interruption ML Prediction, and Spot Instance Price Drift Rebalancing among others. Customers will confidently run stateful workloads on cost-saving CAST AI provisioned instances, knowing that stateful and uninterruptible applications will be stable and highly available during migration.
